Knicks Star Amar’e Stoudemire Retires After 14 Seasons

Amar’e Stoudemire is a famous basketball player who currently retired from New York Knicks. In the beginning, he played basketball for five different school teams but at the end, he played for Cypress Creek High in Florida. During that time he was included in the NBA draft thus whole high school basketball career shifted to the professional circuit.  

During his professional career, he started with Phoenix Suns, and he played twelve and a half seasons with them. During 2010 he started for playing for famous New York Knicks and played till 2015. On February 2015 he shifted to Dallas Maverick where he made many interesting points and then on July 2016 he signed with Miami Heat. During his career with Miami Heat, he could play only one match due to his knee injury. But at the end, he retired as New York Knicks player and currently he has joined Hapoel Jerusalem.

Famous Phoenix and NYK basketball player, Amar’e Stoudemire announced his retirement from NBA, but he has signed a two-year contract with Hapoel Jerusalem. Before retiring, he signed a contract with Knicks so that he can leave NBA as a member of the Knicks. In a recent press talk, Amar’e said that his heart will always stay with Knicks even though he has moved to different teams during the last stage of the career. To put forward his humor, he also mentioned that he always be a Knick member.  

During his career, the 6 foot 10-inch tall player suffered from mostly knee injury still, he won six times All-Star award. He was the second Knick player to get this award after Patrick Ewing. He finished his career after securing 18.9 points and 7.8 rebounds. Apart from these facts, he was also famous for his pick and roll partnership with Steve Nash. At the later part of his career, he was forced to play for a limited time due to his knee problem although he managed to maintain his efficiency.    

Most of his teammate congratulated him for his glorious career through social media, and newspapers showed him gratitude by highlighting him on the main page. Even his former club, Phoenix Suns made an official statement about his unmatched dedication towards the team.

Conclusion

Although Amar’e Stoudemire has retired from NBA as Knicks he will continue to show his magic in Israeli Basketball Premier League and Euro Cup. He is also the co-owner of Hapoel Jerusalem Basketball Club which is his current professional team.
